I Asked an Astrologer to Explain My Lowest Love Tester Score

Astrologer

My total came back at a respectable number, and I barely looked at it. What I looked at was one line: communication, the lowest of four categories by a wide margin. I’d been seeing Dana for five months, and we had a pattern of arguments that went quiet for two days instead of getting settled. So I booked an hour with an astrologer I trust and brought both charts.

The Score That Bothered Me More Than the Total

The calculator gave love, chemistry, long-term fit and communication. Three sat comfortably in the middle or above. Communication sat well under them, and it was the only one that matched something I could actually feel.

That’s the first thing worth saying about a low category: it matters most when it agrees with your lived experience, and matters least when it doesn’t. If your lowest score describes a problem you’ve never had, I’d treat it as noise. Mine described the exact thing we kept doing, which is why I took it to someone who could read it against real charts instead of reading it alone.

I’m a Virgo with a Gemini Moon. Dana is a Sagittarius with a Cancer Moon. A sun-sign tool sees Virgo and Sagittarius, both mutable signs, and flags friction. The astrologer started with the Moons.

What the Astrologer Saw in the Two Charts

She was clear that this is interpretation, not measurement, and that another astrologer might weight things differently. With that said, here is what she pointed to.

Mercury, Not the Sun

Communication style in astrology is read mostly from Mercury. Mine was in Virgo, which tends toward precise, correct-the-details talking. Dana’s was in Sagittarius, which tends toward big-picture, say-it-fast talking. Both are mutable, so we both adapt in the moment, but we adapt in opposite directions: I narrow, Dana widens.

The Moon Pairing

My Gemini Moon processes feelings by talking them through. Dana’s Cancer Moon processes by withdrawing first and speaking later. That explained the two-day silences better than any sun-sign line did. I was pushing for a conversation at exactly the point Dana needed to go quiet, and Dana read my questions as pressure.

Her summary was blunt: the low score wasn’t a verdict on us, it was a description of two different timing systems.

Three Small Changes We Tried That Month

She didn’t give me rituals. She suggested adjustments that fit those placements, and I kept them small enough to actually do.

1.A stated pause with a return time. When Dana needed to go quiet, the rule became “I need until tomorrow evening,” said out loud. The silence stopped looking like punishment because it had an end.

2. One point per conversation. My Virgo habit was listing every issue. I picked the single one that mattered and left the rest for another day.

3. Big picture first. Before details, I’d say what I wanted the outcome to be. Dana, a Sagittarius, responded to the destination far better than to the itemized route.

The next two arguments, one about a cancelled trip and one about money for a shared weekend, went differently. Not painlessly. The first still got heated. But Dana took the evening, came back, and we settled it that night instead of letting it sit for two days. The second took about forty minutes.

Running the Love Tester Again and What Moved

A few weeks later I wanted to see whether the number would shift, mostly out of curiosity. I re-entered both birth dates into the same Love Tester and compared the result with my first screenshot.

Nothing moved. Communication was the same, and so was every other category. That’s exactly what should happen, and it’s the part people find disappointing: a birth-date calculator reads the dates, not your behavior. Any calculator that works from signs, elements and modalities will return the same figures however well your last argument went.

What had changed was me. I now read that low category as a note about our default settings, not a forecast. The score described where we start; it couldn’t register that we’d begun working against it. If you re-run yours expecting a reward for good behavior, you’ll be let down. Re-run it to check you entered the dates correctly, and for nothing else.

What a Low Category Cannot Predict

A low communication score can’t tell you whether you’ll break up, whether Dana is the right person, or whether the problem is fixable. It describes a tendency in two charts. It can’t see willingness, which in my experience is the variable that decides most of these cases.

It also can’t tell you about problems it doesn’t measure. Plenty of couples with a strong communication score avoid hard topics entirely, which looks like good communication until it isn’t. And a middling category isn’t a warning on its own. Most pairs I’ve read have one soft spot somewhere.

The question I’d ask is simple: does the weak category match an argument you keep having? If it does, you’ve been handed a specific thing to work on. If it doesn’t, put the number down and look at what’s actually happening between you.
